Founded in 1985 by community activists and physicians, the AIDS Foundation of Chicago is a local and national leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS. We collaborate with community organizations to develop and improve HIV/AIDS services; fund and coordinate prevention, care, and advocacy projects; and champion effective, compassionate HIV/AIDS policy. ******************************************************* HEALTH CARE REFORM HEROES/VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!! Health care reform will fundamentally transform and enhance our ability to fight the spread of HIV and AIDS. Simply put, health care reform will fight AIDS, and NOW is a critical moment when we need the voices of the HIV/AIDS community to be heard. The AIDS Foundation of Chicago needs help fighting for health care reform next week. We are holding phone banks every Wednesday from 5:30 8:30 at our offices (200 W. Jackson Blvd, #2200), calling AFC supporters and urging them to contact Senator Durbin to endorse health care reform with a public option. If youd like to volunteer, contact Pete Subkoviak at psubkoviakaidschicago.org We also have lots of petitions that we need distributed out in the community to get signed. If youd like to take some petitions with you to your religious institution, work, a party, the farmers market, school or anywhere else for people to sign wed love it! You can pick them up at our offices or Pete can e-mail you the document to print off and fax back to us (312-922-2916).
