(AHS) is a health management corporation headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our primary business is health services management, assisting state, county and city governments as well as Health Maintenance Organizations with the administration of health care programs oriented to low-income families. The company was established in 1979 and began its first contract in the city of Baltimore on July 1, 1979. Since that time, AHS has been providing program development and administration services specifically related to maternal and child health programs, education and enrollment in both the fee-for-service (FFS) and managed health care environments and Vaccines for Children Projects. We have been in the health service management arena for 20 years, working with all major stakeholders of these effortsconsumers, health and human service providers (including community-based agencies), and the funding organization. Our involvement in Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT), in Pennsylvania, has been pivotal in the growth and development of AHS into a multifaceted health care services management corporation. It is also the basis of our expertise in consumer outreach and education, agency relations and continuous quality improvement. We are a national firm who has had contracts in Maryland, Michigan, Connecticut, Texas and Georgia and currently holds contracts in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, West Virginia, New York and Illinois, and comprises over 400 employees. We have also addressed the changing needs created by the migration of our client base to the managed care arena by offering new products and services to both states and HMOs. These include: EPSDT services for both States and Medicaid HMOs, Outreach and Education related to the Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Primary Care Case Management (PCCM), Benefit counseling/Enrollment Brokering, Vaccines for Children (VFC).
