Komen for the Cure is the worlds largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives. Since 1997 the Chicago Affiliate has invested over $8 million dollars in local breast health education screening and treatment and an additional $2 million for research. We do this by empowering people through education, ensuring quality care through grants to local healthcare organizations and energizing science to find the cures through our Global Research Fund. Because one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, we are always looking for new partners in our fight to eradicate this disease. With our strong brand, the impact weve made on Chicago, and our vision of a World without Breast Cancer, it is mutually beneficial for people to become involved.
