Who is Lumity?
Lumity is a fellow nonprofit that provides IT, Finance and Training services to Chicago area nonprofits.NPO.net was created by Lumity staff and is maintained and operated by Lumity. What is NPO.net?
NPO.net is a full-featured job board that services only recognized nonprofits and certain government agencies (such as city offices and companies that provide the majority of their services to the nonprofit community) that desire to find staff with deep community service experience. NPO.net is dedicated to free access for nonprofit job seekers as well as low cost job posting for agencies seeking dedicated and talented staff.
NPO.net was created in 1995 through the support of several foundations and area nonprofits and has grown to be a fixture in the Chicago area nonprofit community. With a complete remake of the underlying technology NPO.net was re-launched in September 2009 to service the entire state of Illinois, NPO.net will eventually be extended into other areas throughout 2010 and 2011.
Who can use NPO.net / post jobs and find jobs
NPO.net is open for all job seekers free of charge. To apply for a job most seekers will have to create an NPO.net account which is required for the application process. Employers are required to be either a 501Cx nonprofit or public service agency.
