The Provisions Coordinator position is multi-function position. This position works closely with the Executive Director to raise the annual operating budget of the agency, provides direct services to victims of domestic violence at the Walk-In Facility, facilitates domestic violence educational services to the community, directly supervises the Outreach Legal Advocate, facilitates new hire 40-hour domestic violence training and coordinates volunteers/interns. S/he reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
Fundraising Component:
•Research, identify and call on donor prospects, including government sources, foundations, corporations, other not-for-profits, community groups, businesses and individuals.
•Grant writing and reporting to donors (as specified by the Executive Director).
•Maintain donor records and coordinate letters of acknowledgement.
•Develops annual fundraising plan, including a calendar of strategies in collaboration with the Executive Director. Regular reporting of progress in conjunction with the plan.
Direct Service Component:
•Provide domestic violence counseling at the Walk-In Facility to victims of domestic violence and their children with an average of two clients on the case load at any given time.
•Facilitate the Youth Violence Prevention Initiative by going to local area elementary and high schools to provide anti-bullying curriculums and teen dating violence awareness curriculums to approximately 200 students annually.
Supervisory/Training Component:
•Coordinate internship program including interviewing, training and co-supervision.
Work Hours
Schedule 9-5 Monday through Friday; however, must be available to work some evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
1.Bachelor’s degree or minimum two years’ experience fundraising, grantsmanship and proposal writing.
2.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, writing, organizing and teaching skills.
3.Excellent typing ability and computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).
4.Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as cooperatively.
5.Demonstrated commitment to social change, preferably in the area of violence against women.
6.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others of diverse age, language, race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, mental/physical abilities, and socioeconomic status.
7.Knowledge in crisis intervention and domestic violence or ability to complete Neopolitan Lighthouse 40-hour training.
8.Must be able to pass the Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional exam following training.
9.Private automobile required.
