Erikson Institute, a graduate school in child development located in downtown Chicago, is seeking to hire a Professional Development Facilitator for the Chicago Parent-Child Center (CPC) Midwest Expansion Project. The CPC Midwest Expansion Project is a five-year initiative to expand the CPC program in four cities across the Midwest. These cities include Chicago, IL; Bloomington, IL; Evanston, IL; and St. Paul, MN. The project is directed by the Human Capital Research Collaborative, University of Minnesota, under a federal i3 grant. Erikson Institute, the New Schools Project, is a project partner. Erikson’s role is to design and deliver professional development to the PreK-3rd teachers, parent resource coordinators, and administrators from CPC sites across the five participating cities. The CPC professional development system will emphasize the on-line delivery of professional development modules coupled with on-site coaching for CPC leadership teams.
THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON AVAILABILITY OF GRANT OR CONTRACT FUNDS. IF THE FUNDS FROM THE GRANT OR CONTRACT THAT PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THIS POSITION ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE, THIS POSITION MAY BE TERMINATED WITHOUT CAUSE UPON WRITTEN NOTICE.
Roles & Responsibilities:
A. Collaborate with the CPC Project Director and CPC Professional Development Coordinator to design professional development for CPC teachers, administrators, and support staff.
B. Contribute specific content-area expertise for the design and delivery of CPC professional development.
C. Collaborate in the development of professional development materials, including professional development modules, resources, manuals, and presentations.
D. Deliver professional development to CPC teachers, administrators, and support staff, including the facilitation of on-line discussion groups.
E. Provide instructional coaching and consultation to CPC teachers, administrators, parent resource teachers, and other support staff in Chicago Public Schools.
F. Support on-going outreach to, and communication with, CPC Expansion sites.
G. Perform other duties as assigned.

• Master’s Degree or higher in fields related to Early Childhood Education.
• At least 5 years of highly effective teaching at the PreK-3rd grade levels.
• Documented effectiveness in collaborating with children’s families.
• Experience as an instructional coach for teachers at the PreK-3rd grade levels and/or experience in designing and delivering professional development.
• Experience using on-line instructional formats, such as Blackboard.
• Professional leadership in early childhood education or related fields as documented by National Board Certification, active participation in professional organizations, or professional presentations.
• Expertise in specific areas related to PreK-3rd grade education is highly preferred, including such areas as Language/Literacy, Mathematics, Bilingual Education/ESL, and Social-Emotional Learning.
