Erikson Institute is seeking to seeking to hire an experienced clinical professional with a license such as LCSW, LCPC, or Ph.D., with knowledge of child development and background working with children and families, to provide screening and referral services in the Southern region of Illinois for an ongoing state-wide collaboration with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Early Childhood Unit. Through this innovative project, the developmental specialist will provide clinical screenings of children birth to three years of age and their birth parents with the goal of identifying and recommending appropriate services to maximize child and family functioning.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The developmental specialist will: conduct assessments through the use of screening tools and clinical interviews with children and birth parents; interpret and document assessment results; and make referrals and recommendations for clients who have been identified as either at-risk of or demonstrating developmental and/or behavioral difficulties. The developmental specialist will provide case consultation to the caseworkers who are responsible for providing community and social services based on assessment results. The developmental specialist will participate in weekly individual and group reflective supervision and case presentations. The position will be based in Southern Illinois and will require travel to provide screenings at locations throughout the region.

• Experienced and licensed clinician with Ph.D., LCSW or LCPC
• Valid Illinois driver’s license and access to reliable car
• Bilingual an asset, Spanish preferred
• Knowledge of child development

• One or more years experience providing assessments with young children preferred
• Excellent oral, written and organizational skills
