Job Description:
The goal of the Patient Services Representative is to ensure that the American Cancer Society can find effective patient services for all cancer survivors through their partnership arrangements with health care providers and other service providers. The Patient Services Representative will establish and maintain ongoing relationships with the health care community, and will be responsible for the regional implementation and support of education and patient service programs in hospital and community-based organizations. Recruits, trains and supervises volunteers of the Patient Navigation System. Helps maintain the Community Resource Database (CRD). Assists with execution of Division-led marketing, communications, media relations and advocacy strategies as assigned.

The Patient Services Representative should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, have a thorough knowledge of the health care resources and the other resources available in the community, or be willing to learn, and should be detail-oriented and self motivated. Further, the Patient Services Representative should be able to recruit, train and supervise volunteers. Very strong communication and interpersonal skills. Self-direction is important. Computer competence. Ability and willingness to learn and assist in the management of computer databases. Able to lift 30 lbs and perform basic set up & take down of program materials including loading/unloading boxes, setting up displays, etc. Must have access to car or be able to transport materials to and from meetings and workplace/community programs. Must be able to staff evening and weekend committee meetings, events and programs.
