Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, Wheaton, IL is seeking a dynamic fund raiser for a phenomenal opportunity to play an integral role in completing a major capital legacy campaign. The Major Gifts Officer will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective donors in expanding their financial support of Marianjoy's Mission to provide exceptional and compassionate health care service.

Specific Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for planning, directing and implementing activities and programs to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward major, annual, capital/special project and planned gifts from qualified donors and prospects. Key functions of this role are to implement strategic components of identified major and planned gift initiatives, as well as to write, review and edit major gift proposals, develop menus of giving opportunities and materials for planned giving. This position is accountable for meeting an annual revenue target

Mandatory Job Qualifications

Education/Credentials:
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree is preferred. CFRE certification is preferred.

Experience:
Qualified candidate should possess 5 to 7 years of fundraising experience, with at least 2 years of experience in soliciting major/principal gifts. Significant expertise with the area's funding community is highly desirable.

Knowledge/Skills:
The successful candidate must have strong communication, relationship building and organizational/time management skills. A proven track record of closing major gifts and expertise in fundraising database management are essential. The selected individual will be goal oriented, possess strong budgeting and planning skills and be able to function independently.
