Position Announcement – Technical & Contract Manager
BACKGROUND
The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) is a collaborative network whose purpose is to advance energy efficiency in the Midwest in order to support sustainable economic development and environmental preservation. Our goal is to provide a collective voice at a national and regional level; act as a clearinghouse to identify, evaluate and create successful programs and market assessments for the region; and foster communication on effective energy policy.
DESCRIPTION
MEEA is seeking a Technical & Contract Manager to be located in its Chicago, IL office. The Technical & Contract Manager will lead MEEA’s work in providing support to states, cities and counties in the Midwest region that are receiving federal Stimulus (ARRA) funding for implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy programs as well as be responsible to the oversight of contractual terms and obligations for all of MEEA’s program and policy initiatives. The responsibilities for this position include:
- Coordinate with other members of a national team providing Stimulus support;
- Assess needs of ARRA grantees in the region;
- Respond to requests for information or technical assistance from grantees, in partnership with other MEEA staff and contractors;
- Organize workshops and webcasts for grantees in the region;
- Facilitate peer-to-peer exchange and showcase highly effective programs;
- Develop and disseminate case studies;
- Maintain a project web site;
- Report on activities and results to the U.S. Department of Energy;
- Manage MEEA’s program and policy grant contract terms to ensure compliance; and
- Liaison between accounting and program and policy staff to lead reporting and budgeting efforts.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have experience working on energy efficiency preferably for a federal, state or local agency, or as a contractor to a government agency. The successful candidate should have broad knowledge of energy efficiency policies, programs and technologies, excellent communications, organization and networking skills, and ability to work independently. A Masters degree plus at least three years of experience or a Bachelors degree plus at least six years of experience is preferred.
