Description
- Plan menus with input from parents and site staff and submit planned menus to Grantee Nutrition Staff for approval before implementation
- Identify and precure food for different cultural and ethnic groups including those with special dietary needs.
- Maintain current and valid Food Sanitation Certification
- Prepares and serves nutritious meals and snacks to children age 0 - 5 yrs.
- Arranges work schedules and training for volunteers
- Maintains established standards and regulations of food sanitation, safety, food preparation and serving size for each age group in complianace with the Head Start Performance standards, DCFS and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) agencies.
- Order supplies and needed equipment with director's input and approval. Keep all kitchen equiment in good condition.
- Maintains all records pertaining to food service operation and children's meal service
- Assists with the preparation of all required reports
- Attend regularly scheduled meetings, trainings, and in-services
- Perform other duties as assigned
Mandatory Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Food Service Sanitation Certification
- Quantity cooking experience
- Physical on file that meets local and state health requirements
