Under the general supervision of the Director of Development, the MGO acts independently to develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive fund development program from private sources.  Components within the program include identification of private funding needs and solicitation of private support from individuals, corporations and foundations.
Responsibilities:
·         Responsible for soliciting gifts of $10,000 and higher which enhancing ongoing revenue growth with strategic focus on retaining and upgrading donors while building a pipeline of prospects.
·         Manage relationships with approximately 75 prospective donors and will be expected to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward these very important friends.
·         Work collaboratively with and in support of volunteers, support group members, and staff to cultivate and solicit donors for organization-wide priorities.
·         Providing donor-specific stewardship in recognition of philanthropy.
·         Providing for on-going promotion of planned giving opportunities; overseeing, managing and/or planning solicitation events.
·         Collaborating with staff in completing gift arrangements which require tax or estate planning.
·         Utilize available tools to identify and manage prospect (wealthengine.com, Raisers Edge) and prepare appropriate contact and activity reports.

Mandatory Job Qualifications

Qualifications:
·         Bachelor’s Degree
·         Three to five years successful experience in major and/or corporate fundraising
·         Demonstrated track record in raising funds by developing and implementing plans for gifts of $10,000 and higher.
·         Strong organizational and time management skills
·         Strong communication skills including ability to write and speak persuasively about organization
·         Willingness to travel 50% of the time- overnight stay may be necessary
·         Attend board meetings and events as needed.
·         Knowledge in all Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
·         Knowledge of planned giving vehicles preferred.
·         Raisers Edge experience preferred.
