Description
Hubbard Street Dance Chicago offers rich and stimulating internship opportunities for college and graduate students seeking experience in administration, artistic administration, education, development and marketing. HSDC provides interns interested in dance and arts management the experience of working behind the scenes in one of the world’s leading contemporary dance companies. Interns have the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge of arts management while working closely with the staff and artists of HSDC.
HSDC Interns are integral members of the organization and are entrusted with a number of challenging responsibilities. Interns have the opportunity to work at the theater when the company is performing in Chicago’s Harris Theater for Music and Dance, and see company performances. Interns also have the advantage of taking free classes at the Lou Conte Dance Studio.
Undergraduate students can apply for a compensated position as a Kemper Fellow at HSDC. The James S. Kemper Foundation of Chicago and six Chicago area arts organizations have collaborated to create the Kemper Fellows Program, providing interns with compensation and additional mentorship.
