Description
SUMMARY: Works closely with Director of Development to implement fundraising initiatives, public relations, marketing, special events and board development. The position identifies potential funders, writes proposals, and cultivates funder relationships with private, public and corporate funding sources. This position also coordinates strategic communications including the newsletter, website and other tools, andperforms tasks related to special events and board development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES--
1 Corporate and Foundation Relations; State and Federal Grant Writing
a Writes grant proposals to solicit funds from foundations, corporations and governmental agencies.
b Conducts prospect research to identify potential funding services for agency
c Works with departments to determine budget needs
d Prepares and completes reports to funders
e Maintains files of correspondence with funders
f Follows up with funders and coordinates funder site visits
g Creates and maintains a yearly calendar and spreadsheet for grants and reports
h Works with Director of Development in annual strategic planning for fundraising
2 Marketing and Public Relations
a Manages Constant Contact account, including contact lists, billing account, email and image library
b Coordinates with printer, graphic designer, and staff to produce and mail marketing & PR materials
c Recruits, interviews and supervises interns or volunteers
d Writes and edits copy for the Annual Report
e Works with other departments for Annual Report content
f Maintains up-to-date website content information
g Takes photographs of agency events and participants
h Works with Director of Development in annual strategic planning for marketing and public relations
3 Young Professional Board
a Serves as a staff liaison to HACC’s Young Professionals Board
4 Special Events
a Assists Director of Development in organizing agency fundraising special events
b Attends gala planning meetings and records minutes

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree plus 3 years of experience in grant writing for a social service agency.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, time management skills and organizational abilities.
