Description
The Director of Donor Relations is a senior position on the Development team which reports to the Director of Development. The Development Team has 17 staff members and raises approximately $18 million annually. The Director of Donor Relations primary responsibilities include: Managing Catholic Charities Special Event Program and 3 member team and working closely with the Director of Regional and Program Events: Managing with the event team the 3 premier Catholic Charities events: St. Nicholas ball; Catholic Charities Golf Classic and Gala of The Arts; Planning and implementation of a comprehensive strategic plan for the growth of the Corporate Partners Program including corporate sponsorships and programmatic support; Establishing a portfolio of $10,000+ gifts from current donors/lapsed and new donors; Managing the Major Gift Program campaign in coordination with the Director of Development: Managing donor cultivation events for new and lapsed donors and thank you events for $10,000 donors. Works closely with the Director of Regional and Programs Events and special event staff to secure corporate sponsors for Catholic Charities’ premier fund raising events. Creates and establishes annual and multi-year measurement tools for assessment of current efforts and opportunities for progress and advancement for the Donor Relations Program.

Mandatory Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 8-10 years “hands-on” experience in fund-raising. Corporate donor fund raising which includes identification, cultivation and personal solicitations of donors. Experience with major special event fund raising necessary including experience securing major corporate sponsorships. Strong written and oral skills are needed.
Experience with communications /marketing/public relations.
Raisers Edge experience a necessity.
Experience working collaboratively with colleagues in a team environment and working with numerous volunteer and board committees.

Desired Qualifications
Proven ability to communicate effectively with donors, prospects, leads and Board members, both verbally and in writing; excellent follow-through and attention to quality and detail; The ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge program essential. Budgetary skills necessary. Excellent computer skills including Power Point and Excel. Comfort with personal computers and software programs for retrieving, organizing and researching donor/prospect information, list management, as well as data gathering.
