Assistant Director for Student Activities and Greek Life at the University of Chicago
The Office of the Reynolds Club & Student Activities (ORCSA) encourages student engagement at the University of Chicago. ORCSA directly advises Recognized Student Organizations (RSO's) and provides space and business resources for student-focused activities on campus. ORCSA is seeking a full-time Assistant Director for Student Activities and Greek Life.
The Assistant Director for Student Activities and Greek Life is charged with creating and managing structure, systems and policies for Greek Letter Organizations and advising student organizations at the University of Chicago. The Assistant Director will manage the administration of Greek Letter organizations, including policy adherence and enforcement, the judicial process, mandatory risk management training and other Greek life activities. As a member of the Office of the Reynolds Club and Student Activities, the Assistant Director will also work with students and staff to encourage student involvement in student organizations, programming, and student life at the University of Chicago and support the vision and mission of the office.

Mandatory Job Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree is required, master's degree in higher education, student affairs, or student personnel preferred.

Expertise in college fraternity and sorority systems and knowledge of current legal trends with experience in student judicial board procedures and current topics in student life in higher education. (May be as primary representative of the university’s Greek system to external constituencies, e.g., parents, alumni, community leaders, etc.)
 
At least two years of combined experience of working in student activities or Greek life is required.

 Strong supervisory skills are required. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and conflict resolution              techniques.

Desired Qualifications

Prior experience in the preparation and presentation of leadership workshops preferred
Must be able to work independently and carry out assignments and projects without detailed instructions.        

Evening and weekend work required, including flexibility of work hours and availability to attend to emergent situations on campus as needed.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer skills required. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet. 

Ability to understand the needs of the University of Chicago community and w
ork with students, faculty and staff in a wide array of situations is essential.
