Position Summary
The Chief Development Officer is responsible for managing the LBFE development program and leading the organization’s fundraising efforts in support of the strategic goals as laid out in Vision 2013. The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer, works closely with the Board of Directors and manages a staff of three professionals.
Major Responsibilities
· Craft and implement comprehensive development strategies to raise funds from individual, corporate, and foundation donors
· Achieve all development and fund raising goals
· Develop and execute the Major Gift, Planned Giving and Bequest programs; acquire major gift donations
· Establish, guide and manage productive relationships with major donors, foundations and corporations
· Lead and manage the Development Staff Team in the achievement of annual development goals
· Oversee and monitor the administration of the annual giving direct mail program including annual strategy and evaluation
· Partner with the Chief Executive Officer to guide, advise and support the Board of Directors and the Development Committee on strategies to raise funds
· Oversee the management of the donor database, currently Donor Perfect
· Develop and monitor the department’s expense budget and forecast fund raising income

Mandatory Job Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree and/or CFRE preferred
· Minimum seven years of development experience leading successful annual and major gift campaigns
· Passionate about the mission and work of Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly
· Previous work experience with vulnerable populations and the aging community
· Significant experience acquiring individual and major gifts
· Proven success in developing and guiding relationships with individual donors
· Experience in successfully developing and managing corporate and foundation relationships
· Experience with managing direct mail/direct marketing program
· Deep understanding of budgets and financial statements
