OPEN POSITION and ACTIVE RECRUITMENT
The YWCA is currently recruiting for the position of CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, an exempt, full-time position in the Marketing & Development Department, the incumbent will report to Chief Executive Officer, with supervisory responsibilities over the Marketing and Development Associate staff. This new position is effective for March 1, 2010 and we hope to hire for the position before that date Salary Range: $73,088-90,000; hiring salary dependent upon experience and demonstrated achievement. Geographic Work Area: Downtown Chicago
SUMMARY: The Chief Development Officer serves as strategic leader and critical external presence for mobilizing partners and stakeholders to advance the organization’s fundraising and marketing programs. Working with corporate and philanthropic institutions, government, public officials, donors, and influential individuals, the Chief Development Officer will raise money and position the YWCA as a leader in the empowerment of women and elimination of racism.
POSITION CHALLENGES: Must have the ability to leverage past experience to expand the YWCA’s donor base in the competitive Chicago Metropolitan area. This position offers the right professional the opportunity for a creative and entrepreneurial development role that will lead the YWCA’s advances in fund development. The Chief Development Officer will collaborate with the CEO to design and direct efforts to help secure substantially increased funding.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor's from an accredited college or university in Business, Marketing, Community Development, or a related degree is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
