Communities In Schools of Chicago (CISC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to working in partnership with the Chicago Public Schools and community organizations to improve student achievement. During the 2008-2009 school year, CISC will connected more than 1,200 services and programs to more than 62,000 students and families. Connected services include health services and education, violence-prevention and arts and academic enrichment programs. CISC links existing health, human and other support services more than 170 Chicago public schools. CISC also partners with more than 130 community organizations and agencies across the city who provide their programming in the schools at no cost to the student or school. CISC is an affiliate of Communities In Schools, Inc., a national nonprofit organization with offices in 200 different cities and communities.
Agency/School Coordinators work with schools and agencies to develop the capacity of both groups to establish and maintain effective partnerships and effectively reduce barriers to student learning. Agency/School Coordinators manage a portfolio of schools while also investigating new agency partnership opportunities. Agency/School Coordinators work creatively to develop new ways to expand the reach and effectiveness of local agencies in order to have an increased impact on student academic success and general well-being.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement strategies for creating partnerships between schools, neighborhood organizations, social service agencies, and community institutions.
· Train and provide assistance to site coordinators in 12 Chicago public schools related to needs assessments, community partnership coordination and program evaluation
· Research and identify potential service providers to meet identified needs at schools and guide the initial stages of those partnerships.
· Strategize and explore potential large-scale and replicable opportunities to meet core needs of students, with an emphasis on nutrition and/or general health promotion
· Represent CISC at various coalitions and community events.
· Maintain detailed records of school and agency partnerships.
· Help plan and facilitate trainings and networking events for school and agency partners.
· Periodically observe and monitor agency/school partnerships and services connected.
· Collect and analyze data from schools to evaluate the impact of connected programs/services.
· Assist with other organizational projects, as needed.

Mandatory Job Qualifications
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of work experience.
· Experience working with urban public schools is helpful.
· Must have a car.

Salary: $35,000, dependent upon qualifications
