Garden Center Services is a non-profit human services agency that has been providing educational, vocational, and residential services for individuals with developmental disabilities since 1956.

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) assists adults with developmental disabilities in Garden Center residential sites by establishing a safe and comfortable environment; encouraging greater independence; and increasing self-confidence through helping adults participate in engaging activities. 
 
Duties include: 
  • Assisting adults with personal care and daily living activities through one-on-one interaction. 
  • Promoting the health and well being of individuals being served. 
  • Lifting and transfering adults with physical limitations (over 75lbs). 
  • Providing challenging and stimulating experiences for recreation and learning. 
  • Assisting with daily living skills with direction towards a healthy life style. 
  • Coaching individuals in tasks encouraging greater independence.

Garden Center Services is looking for a unique individual who:

  • Is positive and professional in verbal and written communication 
  • Generates ideas for enhancing services in a learning environment

Mandatory Job Qualifications

Qualifications: 
  • High School Diploma 
  • 18 years or older 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record 
  • One year experience working with people with disabilities 
  • No criminal history of abuse

Desired Qualifications

Compassion and caring approach to serving adults with disabilities.
Experience in serving individuals with developmental disabilities is desirable.
