TRANSITIONAL LIVING SHIFT WORKER -
Location: Lockport Village (17545 Village Lane Lockport IL. 60441) SOS Children’s Villages Illinois has openings for a Transitional Living Program shift worker. The TLP program is the home for (6) adolescent young men in our Lockport Village. We are currently seeking staff for part time shifts between - 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. & part time weekends. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing general supervision and intervention to your in the program; teaching and working with youth on basic life skills ensure their movement toward self-sufficiency; provide for the physical and emotional needs of the residents; assist with administration of Home budget; assist in planning and carrying out of therapeutic activities; leadership and participation in planning and supervising recreational and leisure activities; transporting clients as required; medication management; light household duties; enforce and maintain consistency concerning polices and rules; establish a positive, constructive relationship with the youth through communication, interaction and role modeling; participate as a Team member to achieve Program goals and objectives. Position Minimum Requirements: Must be 21 years of age; Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or 2 years of College with equivalent experience, or High School Diploma with equivalent experience. A minimum of 3 years working with adolescents required. Ability to work both independently and as an active team member; excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; demonstrate good personal organizational and judgment skills; maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences; regular and predictable attendance; ability to manage multiple tasks; ability to work flexible hours; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook; ability to write reports and correspondence; ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials; ability to maintain professional demeanor while exercising discretion at work; ability to climb stairs on a frequent basis, life and/or move up to 40 pounds, and with proper training, be able to physically restrain youth; ability to work in an alcohol, tobacco and drug free environment. Ability to pass DCFS required criminal background check including CANTS/SACWIS and SORS, and DCFS Medical/TB test/drug test. Must hold a valid Illinois driver’s license with acceptable driving record and provide own reliable and insured transportation.
