Research, develop, plan and implement a comprehensive funding strategy that minimally provides the budgeted fixed annual operating costs of the organization and ensures programmatic funding requirements are met.  Identify, cultivate and solicit potential major gift donors.  Implement individual giving program.  Develop tools supportive of the overall funding strategy such as direct mail, web based technologies, and donor database.  Develop and submit strategically important grant proposals.  Prepare and distribute specific progress reports to all funding agencies that require them in a timely manner.  Maintain a schedule of all funding related activities to ensure that all reasonable funding opportunities are applied for on behalf of the organization.  Cooperate and support the funding activities undertaken by the Board.

Mandatory Job Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of business administration or the sciences.  Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated funding development experience in not-for-profit business sector.  Excellent grant development skills required.  Specific experience in Major Gift development and acquisition required.  Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills required.  Deductive reasoning and analytical skills required.  Demonstrated effective negotiation skills.  High professional ethics and standards.  Good interpersonal skills.  Ability to adapt and change with environment and circumstances.

Desired Qualifications

Funding development experience in the health care sector beneficial.
